Project Pan-European Response to the Impacts of COVID-19 and Future Pandemics and Epidemics (PERISCOPE)
PERISCOPE is a large-scale research project that involves a consortium of 32 European institutions to investigate the implications of COVID-19 in a broad way, which include the socio-economic impacts, the health impacts and the impacts on the health systems.
PERISCOPE aims to enhance our comprehension of the outbreak’s dynamics significantly through rigorous multi-disciplinary research encompassing both theoretical and experimental approaches. This effort will encompass a range of perspectives, including clinical and epidemiological, humanistic and psychological, political, socio-economic, statistical, and technological viewpoints.
Stefan S. Nicolau Institute of Virology is a member of a consortium of 32 partners that will implement the Periscope project – a Horizon 2020 research project that was funded with almost 10 million Euros under the Coronavirus Global Response initiative launched in May 2020 by the European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
