CAMELIA SULTANA is Head of the Department for Emerging Viral Diseases at Ştefan
S. Nicolau Institute of Virology, senior researcher II (part-time) and Associate Professor of Virology at Carol Davila University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Bucharest.
She has qualification as MD attending physician both in Medical Microbiology and Laboratory Medicine (biochemistry, microbiology, virology, parasitology, hematology).
Her main fields of research are the evolution and molecular epidemiology of viral hepatitis infections in Romania, virological follow-up of long-term survivors HIV infected patients; viral characteristics associated with the evolution of neurologic complications during viral diseases; viral and host related factors associated with the emergence and evolution of arboviral diseases.
