Applications are open for 2 doctoral positions and 2 post-doctoral positions at Stefan S. Nicolau Institute of Virology, Bucharest (Romania) in the frame of the project “Molecular Profiling of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms and Acute Myeloid Leukemia for Designing Early Diagnostic, Prognostic and Treatment Strategies (MYELOAL – EDIAPROT)” project ID P_37_798, co-financed by the COMPETITIVENESS OPERATIONAL PROGRAMME 2014-2020, PRIORITY AXIS 1 – RESEARCH, TECHNOLOGICAL DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION (RD&I) TO SUPPORT ECONOMIC COMPETITIVENESS AND BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT, Action 1.1.4 Attracting high-level personnel from abroad in order to enhance the RD capacity.

According to the information package of the competition POC-A1-A1.1.4-E-2015, the contest is open for the persons who are not and have never been hired in the host institution.

The main objective of the project is to establish a high level nucleus of competence in studying molecular mechanisms of Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPNs), their transformation into Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) and de novo AML with normal karyotype, at European standards, in an institute with tradition in medical research in Romanian Academy, under the leadership of a researcher with trail-blazing discoveries in the field and extensive international experience in the private research, development and innovation sector, in European academic research as well as in mentoring PhD students and postdoctoral researchers in international programs.

a) ID212219 PhD student position  in Biomedical |Sciences/ Genomics/ Proteomics

Eligibility criteria: completed university studies in biomedical field of at least 5 years (BSc and MSc) attested by a diploma; proof of enrollment at doctoral school; minimum 3 years of experience in identifying predictive biomarkers; competencies in predictive biomarker identification techniques; research experience proved through co-authored publications; known languages: Romanian – excellent; English – Independent user (B1)

b) ID212231 PhD student position Biomedical |Sciences/ Genomics/ Proteomics

Eligibility criteria: completed university studies in biomedical field of at least 5 years (BSc and MSc) attested by a diploma; proof of enrollment at doctoral school; minimum 1 year experience in molecular/ cellular techniques; competencies in molecular / cellular techniques; research experience proved through co-authored publications; known languages: Romanian – excellent; English – Independent user (B1)

c) ID212234 Postdoctoral position in Medical Sciences/ Hematology

Eligibility criteria: completed university studies in Medical field of at least 6 years attested by a diploma; PhD degree in Medical Science obtained within last 5 years; minimum 3 years of experience in patients monitoring or clinical trials or legislation / documentation on studies involving patients; competencies in hematological patient monitoring; research experience proved through co-authored publications; known languages: Romanian – excellent; English – Independent user (B1).

d) 212244 ID Postdoctoral position in Medical Sciences/ Hematology

Eligibility criteria: completed university studies in Medical field of at least 6 years attested by a diploma; PhD degree in Medical Science obtained within last 5 years; minimum 3 years of experience in blood and biopsy specimen collection, preliminary molecular and cytogenetic diagnosis for NMP, sAML and de novo AML with normal karyotype case selection; competencies in hematologic diagnosis; research experience proved through co-authored publications; known languages: Romanian – excellent; English – Independent user (B1)
